What I Offer My Clients
How my work is evolving to address the missing pieces in the branding process.
I have been a graphic designer and communications professional now for almost 20 years {gasp}.
In that same time period, I have been a spiritual seeker, which took me all over the world (to India, South America, and Ireland just to name a few places.) I have spent a LOT of time in spiritual pursuits; traveling, attending retreats and workshops, meditating, doing yoga, and reading countless self-help books. (I have about 10 on my night stand at any given moment. It’s actually a bit of a problem.)
I’ve seen a lot of different clients and situations, and through that time, I have seen how our typical branding processes (namely, logo and website creation) often lack the necessary exploration of the self and understanding of how presenting oneself to the world must align with what is truly within.
I have only recently come to understand how I can have the greatest net positive effect on the people I work with, and how I can combine my expertise, experience, and intuition for the highest and best collaboration and to create the most authentic branding that lasts.
Think of it as life coaching and spiritual guidance combined with branding and graphic design. To put it simply, I help people align their brand and marketing to their life purpose and who they truly are (and not what they think they should be.) If there is anything “false” about how someone is representing themselves, then trust me, I will sniff it out and dig until I find the truth. I know this work intimately, because I have been through it myself.
What I Uniquely Offer
1. I help people articulate something that they are having trouble expressing or seeing in themselves.
I often have clients come to me knowing that they want to start a business, and perhaps they have completed a certification or schooling, but they are having trouble communicating what is unique about what they are offering. I have heard people say “but there are millions of other (fill in the blank with your career choice) out there!”
The truth is that it doesn’t matter how many people are out there “doing what you do.” It is actually impossible for someone else to do what you do, because you are doing it in a way that only you can do it. I think people run into problems when they try to replicate or mimic the way someone else is doing something.
Using my experience in communication design combined with my intuitive abilities, I’m able to tap into your unique voice and essence and illustrate that both visually and verbally.
2. Working with me means going through a self-discovery process.
We are not just creating a logo here. This is your lighthouse. This is how the people who need what you are offering and resonate with you specifically will find you. I have a special process that’s been proven effective with many past clients that will help us clarify what is unique about your offering, and I will help you bring that to life in your brand.
3. I prioritize the process as much as the end result.
I am not one of those “no pain, no gain” people. I think everyday life can and should be easy and enjoyable, all while building momentum on projects and reaching goals. My priority is to make the process fun, pleasurable, and a little edgy to push you out of your comfort zone (because let’s be honest: that’s where the real magic happens.) I set production timelines that are realistic and give ample room for changes as they come up. I approach the process with compassion, patience, and warmth, and I see myself as holding a healing container for my clients to come into their own voice and power when it comes to marketing their business.
4. I keep in mind sustainability, tangibility, and longevity in all I do.
I am an advocate for aligning your marketing strategy with your core values and with what you want to see happen in the world. I encourage my clients to get off the screen and engage in in-person communication, build community, and even use the tangible communication strategies of yore that are not solely digital. In fact, I encourage my clients strongly to think outside of the box when it comes to this. If you are an author promoting a book, for example, I may suggest that you set up a typewriter on a desk at your local farmer’s market and write spontaneous poems based on the themes in your book to give to passersby.
If we’re developing any sort of print collateral together, I will recommend regenerative practices for how to create the materials responsibly. I am mindful of setting up processes that fit into your lifestyle and priorities and won’t become a burden over time.
I also recognize that your work and business is a direct extension of you. I understand that is likely you will evolve over time, and that the business brand has to have the flexibility to evolve along with you.
6. I center you and your creative genius in the process.
This is not an ego trip for me or a desire to make something that will look cool in my portfolio. While I will be sharing my expertise, it is ultimately up to you where the direction of your branding goes. The process is about bringing to life your essence and what you have to share with the world. Consider me as simply your guide in this process.
Who Would Benefit From What I Offer
Anyone who has been stuck in a career that doesn’t feel quite right and wants to transition into a new line of work or start their own business.
Anyone who is having difficulty articulating for themselves what they do to others.
Anyone who struggles to know how to align their work with their life purpose.
Anyone who needs help creating systems and developing promotional content that are authentic to themselves and not a knock-off of what they’ve seen elsewhere on Instagram or what they “should” be doing to grow their audience.
Anyone who has an interest in personal development and spiritual evolution and how that pertains to the direction and branding of their business.
Anyone who is open to magic, miracles, and discovering new possibilities within a creative process.
I have special interest in working with women who are transitioning into working in the healing arts and reprioritizing themselves after having corporate careers or being devoted mothers.
What the Branding Process Looks Like
1. Discovery Call
This is our first getting-to-know you call where we talk about where you are at, what you are needing, what I can offer and how I usually work, and if we could be a good fit. It’s casual and conversational. After our call, I will usually follow up with a proposal on how we can work together based on what was shared.
2. Identity and Authentic Voice Workshop
Here, we do a deep dive into your design: a list of what we look into can be inclusive of (but not limited to) astrology, human design, Myers-Briggs, Enneagram, life path number, and many other systems that can help us understand more about your life purpose and what you have come here to share. We’ll learn about shadow exaltation and how to leverage those things that we often hate or hide about ourselves and actually help them to work for us.
You may come out of this workshop with homework; for example, I may ask you tune into your inner child every day for a week. Or I may recommend that you work with a specific flower essence. Part of the fun is staying open to what may come up!
3. Promotional Style Workshop
This is not a cookie-cutter process. This is a tailor-made workshop that’s specific to how much time you have for your business promotion and how to fit it into your lifestyle (and not the other way around!) You don’t like Instagram? Awesome! You don’t have to be on there. Believe it or not, there are still other ways to share about what you do and to connect with the people who would most benefit with what you are offering.
4. Mood Board
This is where we start collecting what represents the “essence” of what you’re sharing or offering the world (which is ultimately, just an extension of you!) If somehow you think a pineapple represents the essence of you and your work, then we pin it to the board! There are no judgments here. I’m going to ask you to stretch the boundaries of what you think a logo should be, and mimic “synesthesia” to get at every angle of how your work in the world can be represented.
5. Logo Sketches and Refinements
This is the moment where I take all that we dug up in our previous conversations, and all that we collected for the mood board, and start to create logo sketches and ideas. I will be outside, barefoot on the ground, with colored pens and a sketchbook, channeling these visions from my own brain and body and the high heavens. I eventually bring these ideas into a digital format and present the concepts to you. We will discuss which direction to go in from there, and refine it until we’ve come to the point where we absolutely know in our guts that we have reached the right design.
6. Finalized Logo and Branding Guidelines
This is the culmination of our work together, where I pull together branding guidelines that include logo versions (for various applications and platforms), color palette, typography, mood board, social media style, photo style, and how to extend the brand moving forward. This will be your brand bible, so to speak.
7. Tangible (3D) Logo Creation
This is a *new* offering, made especially for those looking for a super creative and experimental process. We will create a tangible, 3D version of your logo! We could make a flower mandala shaped like your logo, or a fruit plate, or a sculpture, or a painting, or an embroidered cloth. The possibilities are endless! The medium we choose will be deliberate based on what you are offering the world, and we can also incorporate this to work with a brand launch event or to adorn an office space. The point is to treat your logo like a sacred symbol and to create a ritual and initiation around releasing your logo into the world with intention.
8. Ongoing Work on Website and Other Branding Collateral
Once we have created your brand, everything else should flow easily from there. In fact, the true hallmark of a good brand is how easily the branding collateral and website manifest from the logo and guidelines. This can include a website, business cards, letterhead, or any other promotional materials you may need to launch your brand.
And there you have it! This is my current process, and it has taken me almost two decades to get here. I have spent my entire adult life trying to understand more about who I am and how to be my true self in the world, and I am eager to share what I have learned and how that can serve you in your discovery process.
If you’re interested in this kind of work, feel free to book a discovery call with me here, or learn more about me and my past work at reneefidz.com.
